Vintage belts and webshops

What an interesting week it was last week.

I had a lot of interest in the mohair blankets and have sold quite a few already.
Also found a very interesting designer who uses vintage leather belts to make floor tiles amongst other tings so check out http://www.tinglondon.com/ to get a closer look.
I attached a few photos above but the web pages are really worth having a look at.
I also found a fab web shop called http://www.etsy.com/ where you can sell you own home made things and vintage items. There are some fantastic things for sale and a great alternative to EBay I would say.

Memories of a bygone era

Sometimes when living in Russia it feels like times have stood still.Town and countryside are vastly different and in the country it often feels like you are part of an old black and white movie.

People are out fishing or fetching water and old cruise ships sail majestically down the river.

Black and white photos

I spent most of today trying to edit this blog and found it so frustrating.Cannot find a decent picture of myself to post on the blog.Went out and bought some black and white photos instead.I am going to hang them on the wall in our bedroom in Spain as a little reminder of our 6 months here in Russia.Mind it is raining so much today I am not sure I want a reminder.

My mom phoned to say she has been offered to go into partnership and set up a new interior design shop in my home town of Stavanger. She has immaculate taste and would design an amazing shop.I will keep you all posted .

Here is my favourite photo from todays shopping trip anyway. It is an image of a submerged town on the Volga river and a typically Russian babuscha washing her clothes.I love it and can just imagin it in a chocolate colour frame

Moscow market

After having come back to Moscow for a second season it was time to find out what the local markets had to offer.Every saturday and sunday there is an arts and craft market at Partisanskaya metro.
I went along this weekend and found some wonderful handknitted kashmere rugs. They come in the most fantastic colours, from light grey to chocolate brown and ar as soft as you can imagine.
I bought two of them and will attempt to post the photos on the web to entise you all. They also have fantastic vintage leather belt which I may just spend a fortune on and I will show you some of these next week.

Starting a blog

I had thought about starting a blog for quite some time but didn't really know what I would put in it or what the purpose would be.

One thing I was aware however was that I am in a very fortunate position where I can travel the world with my partner and always come across beautiful things.Sometimes at a market or in a shop and sometimes just driving around looking at buildings, country side or people.I never used to bring a camera but after moving to Moscow I started to realise that I was missing out on wonderful photo opportunities everywhere.

So, hopefully I will overcome my fear of computers and start a blog of what we experience.

If i ever work out how to set up an web shop too it will be even better.

Bear with me for now and we will see what happens.Kamilla
